This region
is located in the south of Somalia, and it shares a border with Kenya on the
west. The city of Kismayo is the capital of this region.
In this

The economy and the production of the region
Lower Juba
region is a better economic and productive region as the other regions of the
country.
The
community living in this region of lower Juba are traders, farmers, herders and
fishermen.
Business:
Since the
region has a sea and a port for export and import, it also has a number of
airports, this has led to the growth of business in the region.
Agriculture:
Lower Jubba
region is one of the regions that are rich in the production of various crops,
the region has a large agricultural land and the region is also crossed by the
Jubba river which is the largest river in Somalia, this makes a large number of
which is one of the communities in the region where they are farmers.
The region
also has large coconut plantations, which produce coconut oil and are used in
various areas of life.
The crops
produced from the farms are sold to the major cities of the region such as
Kismayo, Afmadow, Dhobley and Jamame.
Animals:
The Lower
Jubba region has forests and large pastures, this makes many people of the
community of the region to be herders.
Various
livestock such as camels, cows, goats and sheep are kept by the shepherds
living in the region.
Fishing:
Since the
region has a long coast and a river, many people in the community living in the
region are fishermen from both the sea and the river.
They
produce different types of fish to support their families, and they also sell
them to the big markets in the region, sometimes they are exported to
neighboring countries like Kenya.
Education
Lower Jubba
region is one of the regions that have educational services of various types,
both religious and non-religious.
Educational
centers including Quranic schools, schools and universities that are located in
the region, especially in Kismayo, which is the capital city of the region.
Every year,
a large number of students graduate from the educational institutions that we
have mentioned. Some students continue their studies in the region, while
others go to other regions of the country such as the capital Mogadishu or
abroad to continue their studies.
Tourist attractions

Gobweyn
village is one of the tourist places in the region, this village is famous for
animal husbandry, agriculture and fishing.
The Jubba
River flows through this majestic village and is located at the point where the
Jubba River and the Indian Ocean joins.
It is a
beautiful tourist place and one of the natural places of the country,
especially in the Lower Juba region.
A number of
tourist islands are also located in the region, including:
Kudhaa,
fuuma, raskamboni, kulbiyow, koyoma and many others.
These
islands are mostly inhabited and lives by a small number of fishing families.

There are
several cities in the region that have different civilizations and they
include:
Kismayo,
jamaame, badah and afmadow.
